Surdasi Malhar

Named for the poet-saint Surdas, this Malhar is close to Miyan ki Malhar but uses a distinctive 'n D n P' descent and tends to omit Gandhar in aroha. Its devotional weight sits a shade brighter than Miyan ki Malhar, befitting the bhajan tradition it accompanies.
