Miyan ki Todi, the namesake raga of the Todi thaat, combines komal Rishabh, Gandhar and Dhaivat with tivra Madhyam. The resulting intervallic tension gives it an intensely plaintive, almost beseeching character, and it is regarded as a severe test of intonation and vistaar craft.
